The NCT PRO Challenge returned to Hua Hin this year and delivered one of the strongest training weeks the region has seen. The event brought together operators from across the Indo‑Pacific, along with teams from the United States. The official press release confirmed that more than 190 personnel from 35 units took part, which made this the largest NCT PRO event held in Thailand so far.

On Armistice Day, the team at Richmond were proud to join members of the local community in North Lopham for a walk to the village war memorial, coming together to remember and honour those who gave their lives in service to our country.

We were delighted to welcome Jenny Vere to RDS HQ today. Jenny is the local representative for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal here in our Norfolk village, and she very kindly visited us to deliver a wreath for next week’s remembrance service at our village war memorial.

Chris Hawthorne, our Training Manager, recently spent a second session with Swiss EOD technicians, training them on the use of our flagship EOD Disruptor, Vulkan.

At midday, our team at Richmond HQ observed a respectful silence to honour the courage and lives lost during the war. Earlier this month, we had the chance to attend LAAD Defence and Security 2025 in Rio de Janeiro — a major event for the defence sector in Latin America. It was a busy few days, but a genuinely worthwhile one for Richmond Defence Systems.

Chris Hawthorne, our Training Manager, recently spent a day in the Swiss hills, conducting a training session for Swiss EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) operators on the use of the CSL 50-40 Vulkan M2 Disruptor/De-Armer.

This year’s Security & Policing 2025 event provided a powerful platform for real-world demonstrations of cutting-edge counter-explosive ordnance (Counter-EO) solutions.

The 2025 Underwater Defence Technology (UDT) event brought together over 1,500 naval professionals, industry leaders, and defence experts from around the world.

Chris Hawthorne had the privilege of delivering training in Romania with members of the Romanian Air Force Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit. The training formed part of an equipment procurement programme ahead of their upcoming deployment in the coming months.

It's been a busy week here at Richmond with visits from Inoke Veikune of UKDSE, and Professor John Economou of Cranfield University - the site has been buzzing with activity.

Chris Hawthorne MInstRE was joined by Glyn Hannah EngTech to spend two weeks in Slovenia, training units from land-based EOD and Civil Protection Police in the use of Richmond Defence System's products.
