Richmond Defence Systems is built around three core teams whose combined expertise supports the design, manufacture and delivery of specialist equipment for EOD and defence users.
Engineering
The Engineering Team is responsible for the design, development and continuous improvement of Richmond Defence Systems products. Their work combines mechanical and electrical engineering, materials science and practical understanding of EOD requirements to ensure that each system performs reliably in demanding environments.
Our engineers oversee the full lifecycle of each product, from initial concept and modelling through to prototyping, testing and refinement. They work closely with users and technical authorities to ensure that designs align with policy, safety frameworks and operational expectations. This team also maintains our technical documentation, ensuring that specifications, drawings and compliance records remain accurate and up to date.
Engineering provides the foundation for our product range, ensuring that every disruptor, dearmer and protective system is built on sound principles and validated performance.
Production
The Production Team manufactures and assembles Richmond Defence Systems equipment to the standards required for defence applications. Their work includes precision machining, component assembly, quality control and final inspection. Each product is built using controlled processes that ensure consistency, traceability and repeatability.
This team works closely with Engineering to ensure that design intent is translated accurately into finished equipment. They also manage supplier relationships, material selection and internal quality assurance procedures. Every item produced undergoes structured checks to confirm that it meets defined tolerances and performance criteria.
Production ensures that our equipment is manufactured with the reliability, durability, and consistency expected by EOD users worldwide.
Commercial
The Commercial Team supports customers throughout the procurement process, providing clear guidance on product selection, capability planning, and integration with existing equipment. They work with defence organisations, government departments, NGOs, and other international partners to ensure that requirements are understood and solutions are aligned with policy and budgetary frameworks.
This team also manages contracts, export compliance, customer communication, and after‑sales support. They coordinate with Engineering and Production to ensure that technical queries are answered accurately and that orders progress smoothly from enquiry to delivery.
Commercial provides the link between Richmond Defence Systems and the organisations we support, ensuring that customers receive informed, consistent, and dependable service.
