Vulkan EOD Disruptor

The NCT PRO Challenge returned to Hua Hin this year and delivered one of the strongest training weeks the region has seen. The event brought together operators from across the Indo‑Pacific, along with teams from the United States. The official press release confirmed that more than 190 personnel from 35 units took part, which made this the largest NCT PRO event held in Thailand so far.

The recent workshop delivered by MAT Kosovo was a great example of partnership in action, bringing together their programme expertise with the practical support and technology of RDS.

Chris Hawthorne, our Training Manager, recently spent a second session with Swiss EOD technicians, training them on the use of our flagship EOD Disruptor, Vulkan.

Earlier this month, we had the chance to attend LAAD Defence and Security 2025 in Rio de Janeiro — a major event for the defence sector in Latin America. It was a busy few days, but a genuinely worthwhile one for Richmond Defence Systems.

Chris Hawthorne, our Training Manager, recently spent a day in the Swiss hills, conducting a training session for Swiss EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) operators on the use of the CSL 50-40 Vulkan M2 Disruptor/De-Armer.

This year’s Security & Policing 2025 event provided a powerful platform for real-world demonstrations of cutting-edge counter-explosive ordnance (Counter-EO) solutions.

It's been a busy week here at Richmond with visits from Inoke Veikune of UKDSE, and Professor John Economou of Cranfield University - the site has been buzzing with activity.

Chris Hawthorne MInstRE was joined by Glyn Hannah EngTech to spend two weeks in Slovenia, training units from land-based EOD and Civil Protection Police in the use of Richmond Defence System's products. 

UK Defence and Security Exports' Export Support Team, today. Capt Stuart (Stu) Natt RE and Ian Ferguson MSc came along to work with our own Chris Hawthorne MInstRE to run through the key products that will be heading to the Indo Defence Expo and Forum.

The Vulkan Disrupter system is a 4th generation maxi modular variable projectile mass, recoilless equipment which can be configured as a De-Armer or Disrupter.
