CSL 38 EOD-TM
UXO Trepanning Machine
The CSL Trepanning Machine is a hydraulically driven core-cutting system designed to safely create an access aperture in the outer casing of unexploded ordnance (UXO). This controlled entry allows the explosive fill to be removed using steaming techniques or neutralised through managed deflagration, reducing the risk associated with fuze removal or full item movement.

The system is remotely operated via an electronic control unit, supplied as standard with a 100 m cable reel, allowing operators to work at a safe stand-off distance. Cutting power is provided by a dedicated hydraulic power pack, driving the trepanning head through high-pressure hoses fitted with self-sealing connectors. The trepanning unit is securely clamped to the munition using heavy-duty chains, while interchangeable cutting tools and integrated cooling ensure stable, controlled operation across a range of UXO types.

-
Disposal operations involving large-calibre or thick-walled ordnance
-
EOD tasks requiring minimal shock and maximum operator stand-off
Why Choose the CSL 38 EOD-TM?
The CSL Trepanning Machine provides EOD teams with a proven, low-risk method of accessing explosive fills when conventional render-safe techniques are unsuitable. Its hydraulically driven cutting action, secure fixing system, and remote operation significantly reduce operator exposure while enabling precise, repeatable results. Designed for demanding field conditions and supplied as a complete, transportable system, it is an essential capability for modern UXO disposal operations where safety and control are paramount.
