CSL 50/30 UWDA
Underwater De-Armer
The CSL 50/30 VIP UWDA Underwater De-Armer is an adapted version of the 30mm Viper disruptor, specifically designed for the safe de-arming of limpet mines. The system features a sealed breech without a gas regulator to prevent water ingress before operation and is compatible with multiple mounting options to suit diverse marine environments and vessel types.

To ensure secure attachment underwater, the UWDA offers several mounting systems. A magnetic base with three rows of powerful neodymium magnets provides a firm hold on steel hulls and structures, with each row able to pivot independently to conform to uneven surfaces. For composite hulls, a suction base uses three hand-operated vacuum cups to create a reliable attachment. Where suction is not possible, an underwater nail gun can be used to fix a mounting base to uneven composite surfaces found on smaller vessels.

The kit includes a buoyancy aid, consisting of a flotation bag and high-visibility diving cable, to assist the diver in deploying and retrieving the system safely. For each shot, a snout attachment is fitted to the barrel to prevent water ingress, ensure projectile acceleration, and maintain the recommended stand-off distance.

The UWDA can fire frangible projectiles weighing 150g, available in frangible clay, frangible ceramic, or ceramic balls with a steel-tipped penetrator. For tougher targets, the system can also fire solid steel slugs. In addition, water jet shots are possible using a water piston loaded into the barrel, similar to the standard Viper disruptor configuration.
